“The life I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and in turn another, until who knows where the trembling stops or in what far place my touch will be felt.” Frederick Buechner
Graduating Wake Forest with Communication degrees, we gained a sincere fascination with and appreciation for the ways in which individuals exchange positive information; however, we believe that human beings so often forget to share joy, kindness or gratitude with those outside of their immediate tribes. Specifically while en route, many travelers tend to strictly focus on getting from here to there, recognizing only those they know and limiting interaction between strangers along the way. So, with this social art project, we, the couriers, are working to spread words of kindness, inspiration, and re-affirmation between complete strangers.
1. en route, meet an array of humans (brilliant, loud, corky, inspiring, tall, successful, weird, struggling, quiet, small, old, young, etc.)
2. ask them to jot down a response to one of the following prompts: my wish for you is...//smile today because...//my life motto i wish to share with you...
3. ask them if they would be willing to share these words with a complete stranger
4. after sharing with us, they will unknowingly receive an insight from another stranger who previously did the same thing in another place we have already vistied (receiving the handwritten note and a small image of the individual who wrote the note to them)
4. upload the process of the kind/positive exchange on our blog & create a portfolio that illustrates the daily musings of good ol' America.
